Glaswolle

The company Saint-Gobain ISOVER

Saint-Gobain ISOVER SA is Switzerland’s first manufacturer of insulation materials made from glass wool. With its headquarters and production site in Lucens in the canton of Vaud, the company has a workforce of more than 170, making it one of the region’s most important employers. The firm has been working on and supporting the further development of insulation materials since its foundation in 1937, and in the process it places a considerable focus on sustainability. ISOVER products are often key elements of energy renovations or new builds and consist of about 80% recycled glass.

“Liechtblick” – for humans and the environment
“Liechtblick” – for humans and the environment

Sustainability is put into practice is all its facets at the Liechtblick workshop: socially, economically and environmentally. What began life as a living-room project 25 years ago has blossomed into an innovative production company with 25 employees. To mark its anniversary, the association renovated the firm’s headquarters in exemplary fashion, turning it into an energy-efficient building featuring ISOVER façade insulation boards – a reference building through and through.

Aquabasilea: immerse yourself, experience and marvel
Aquabasilea: immerse yourself, experience and marvel

Located just a stone’s throw from the ancient site of Augusta Raurica, Switzerland’s most varied world of water opened its doors in March 2010. In other words, modern-day visitors get to seek their leisure-time fun at a place where the ancient Romans already enjoyed bathing thousands of years ago. In addition to the worlds of water and wellness, the aquabasilea complex – which cost a total of 230 million francs to build – includes a hotel, commercial spaces and an office tower. The innovative project is committed to sustainable energy use – among other things with above-average insulation from Saint-Gobain ISOVER AG.
