The Principles of Conduct and Action form the code of ethics and the basis for all our actions. They define the values and rules that apply to all Saint-Gobain companies and their employees.

Principles of Action mean respect for
With our corporate culture, we strengthen the loyalty of our workforce and also attract talent for the future. We create a motivating and committed work environment for all staff.
An environment of equality and equity is essential for healthy professional development. We commit ourselves to zero tolerance of discrimination and promote diversity in all its forms:
gender diversity, diversity of nationality, social and cultural origin, sexual orientation, education, professional background, generational diversity and people with a disability.
Small steps – strong commitment
Good solutions need good ideas and a lot of commitment. That is why we ask our staff every year for their ideas on how we can increase sustainability and cut carbon emissions. This has resulted in a collection of over 200 ideas, on the basis of which projects are being defined and implemented.
The health and safety of the workforce is a top priority. Saint-Gobain’s commitments are enshrined in the EHS Charter (Environment, Health and Safety). Its purpose is to protect the health and wellbeing of all stakeholders and ensure the safe use of products and solutions throughout their life cycle.
«Let’s commit ourselves every day to achieving our goals.»
Climate change can be ignored no longer. That’s why we are supporting the development of a low-carbon economy and have set ourselves the goal of climate-neutral business operations by 2050.
To help us achieve this, our carbon roadmap was reviewed by the Science-Based Target Initiative. In it, we commit to reducing the combustion of fossil fuels in our processes by 33% by 2030. We will cut electricity generated from fossil fuels by the same amount. For products and services that we purchase, we are endeavouring to lower emissions by 16%.
Our goal is a future in which all production waste is recycled. That is why we are committed to sustainable development that protects natural resources and biodiversity.
Our strategy for developing the circular economy has the following focus points:
We have developed an inclusive growth model that makes allowances for environmental, social and societal challenges as well as the expectations of our stakeholders.
We are engaged locally, create jobs and work with SMEs to build the best solutions for better and more sustainable buildings and a future for all. All in the spirit of our corporate mission statement «Making the world a better home».
